Job Description
The Emergency Medical Assistance Team (EMAT) was established in 2004 as part of the provincial government\\\'s commitment to help safeguard the healthcare system from health emergencies, mass casualties and infectious diseases outbreaks.
 
EMAT is a mobile medical field unit that can be deployed anywhere in Ontario with road access and within 24 hours. The EMAT can set-up a 56 bed unit that provides a staging and triage base, and has the capability to treat 20 acute care patients and 36 intermediate care patients. In addition, the EMAT can provide:

Patient isolation in the case of an infectious diseases outbreak;

Medical support and decontamination in the case of a chemical, biological or radiological incident; and

Case management and triage of patients in a mass casualties situation
EMAT is currently recruiting for;
 
Advanced Care Paramedics
Your main role will be to provide patient care within your scope of practice in a variety of dynamic and fluid situations that EMAT will be called into. At times you will also be required to perform other duties that contribute to the success of a given EMAT Mission. As a member of the Team you must be flexible and willing to act when required.
Qualifications
 4 years experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
 Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
 Good written and oral communications skills.
 Ability to think, adapt, and act in rapidly changing situations.
 Ability to quickly learn and implement new concepts, skills, and knowledge.
 Ability to maintain ongoing EMAT CME requirements.
 Must be in good physical shape.
 Must be able to be transported by aircraft when that mode of team transportation is required.
